Ruby Mega Menu supports a range of submenu types, each suited to a different kind of content and navigation structure. You assign a submenu type to each top-level item independently — one item can use a classic dropdown while the next uses a six-column mega menu. Mix and match based on what each section of your site needs.
Classic Dropdown
The classic dropdown displays a single-column list of links below the top-level item. Ruby’s classic dropdown supports up to three levels of nesting. Each second-level item can have its own third-level submenu, opening to the left or right depending on your configuration. Use classic dropdowns for navigation sections with a simple, linear hierarchy.
Classic Mega Menu
The classic mega menu opens a wide panel with multiple columns of links. Choose from 2, 3, 4, or 6-column layouts. Each column can contain a list of links, an optional heading, an image link, or a combination of image and links. Use classic mega menus for sections with many subcategories that benefit from being displayed side by side rather than nested.
Content Tabs — Vertical
Vertical content tabs display a tab list on the left side of the mega menu panel. Clicking or hovering a tab item switches the content panel on the right. Each tab can have its own mega menu configuration — different columns, different content. Use vertical tabs for sections with distinct subcategories that each have enough content to warrant their own panel.
Auto content pull automatically populates the mega menu panel with posts from a selected WordPress category.
Content Tabs — Horizontal
Horizontal content tabs display tab items across the top of the mega menu panel, with the content panel below. Each tab switches the panel content on hover with a smooth height animation. This is Ruby’s most distinctive feature — found in no other WordPress menu plugin — and is particularly well-suited to e-commerce sites with multiple product categories.
